Caring for others has always been part of who I am. It is not something I learned from a textbook. It is something I lived.
I grew up in France, and my mum was a support worker. One of her clients, Pierre, a young adult on the autism spectrum, stayed with us three days a week for years. He became like a brother to me. We ate together, played together, watched TV, and shared everyday life. Through those moments, I learned what it means to be patient, to be present, and to support someone with your whole heart.
Eventually, life took me into hospitality. I spent over 20 years working across three continents, always focused on making people feel welcome, safe, and cared for. Whether I was leading a team or helping a stressed-out guest, I brought the same values with me. Compassion. Empathy. Positivity. And yes, a bit of fun. I have always believed that connection starts with kindness and a smile.
Now I am back where I feel I belong. Working in disability support is not just a job for me. It is something that feels personal. It feels right.
I love bringing comfort and confidence to the people I work with. I enjoy building genuine relationships, where people can be themselves and feel safe to grow. I am bubbly, friendly, and love a good laugh, but I also know when to slow down and listen. I am dependable, honest, and always show up with a full heart. Just ask my toddler.
At the end of the day, I want the people I support to feel seen, valued, and supported. That is what matters most to me.
In 2022, after more than 20 years in hospitality caring for others, I made the leap into disability support. From the moment I began my Certificate IV at RMIT University, I knew I had found my path. It felt like a natural next step that aligned with my values and brought me back to my roots, when I grew up alongside Pierre, a teenager on the autism spectrum whom my mum supported.
For the past 3 years, I have worked full-time as a casual support worker to gain broad experience with respected organisations such as On Call Group Australia, Scope, Life Without Barriers, Hireup, and Plus One All Abilities. Along the way, I have had the privilege of working alongside experienced senior support workers, dedicated nurses, and outstanding allied health professionals, including occupational therapists, speech therapists, and play therapists. Their knowledge and collaboration helped me grow and refine my own approach.
I have supported children, teenagers, adults, and elderly individuals across a range of settings including in-home one-on-one sessions, group activities, community access, supported independent living (SIL) houses, hospital visits, and specialised day programs.
Over time, I have worked with individuals living with a wide range of developmental, neurological, intellectual, mental health, and physical disabilities. These have included autism spectrum disorder (Level 1, 2, and 3), ADHD, PDA, anxiety, depression, epilepsy, vision impairment, Down syndrome, dementia, Fragile X syndrome, schizophrenia, and more.
These diverse experiences have shaped the way I work today with calm, empathy, and flexibility. I believe support is built on trust, kindness, and connection. It is about showing up fully, listening deeply, and helping people feel safe, respected, and proud of who they are.
Whether I am encouraging someone through a challenge or celebrating a small win, I aim to bring joy, dignity, and confidence into everyday life. I offer structure, positivity, and a warm presence, and I never forget the power of a smile and a good laugh.
Based on my experience, personality, and strengths, I have naturally transitioned into specialising in the following areas. This is how I can support you.
I support you in engaging meaningfully with your community and activities. Whether it involves building confidence in new environments, developing social skills, or becoming more independent, my goal is to help you feel more connected, comfortable, and proud of your place in the world.
I offer you a steady, compassionate presence. I understand how to support emotional regulation, reduce anxiety, and encourage positive behaviour. With clear communication, gentle structure, and a strengths-based approach, I create a space where you feel safe, respected, and heard.
I help you build essential life skills that boost your confidence and independence. From decision-making and communication to self-advocacy and emotional resilience, I support you in facing daily challenges with growing confidence. My support is always personalised to your needs, and I celebrate your progress every step of the way.
I communicate openly and respectfully with you, your family, and any professionals involved in your care. I track your progress thoughtfully and stay flexible in my approach. I am always learning and adapting to support your evolving needs.
"Max has been an excellent, high-quality, and very caring worker, which has made it easy for Jarrod. Jarrod responds well to smiling, happy people, and Max has always maintained a caring attitude towards him. Max genuinely enjoys doing what Jarrod wants to do, encourages him to have fun, and helps him enjoy his life. It's been an awesome experience."
I found a support worker recommended through this page and we have found him to be a great fit for my AuDHD kiddo. He is enthusiastic (which is a bonus for my son who is quite silly and playful), very attentive, and a really nice person who doesn't sit on his phone during his shift. So far so good and I think he has availability (or will soon). Everything should be on his website and please contact him directly. I have no affiliation with him other than his genuine support for our kiddo.
I just want to share the contact details of a fantastic support worker who lives in the inner-west area. Since we've moved to Geelong, I can't benefit from his services anymore, but I highly recommend him. He's neuroaffirming, wonderful with both kids and adults, and has experience working with agencies as well as independently in both high and low-care settings. If you're currently looking, I'd get in quick and reach out to him directly through his website. I'm more than happy to recommend.
" I used to go for morning walks with Max after getting my kids ready for school, I've struggled with bad anxiety for years and it was really hard for me to leave the house, I only went out for small family things. Max was super supportive and kind even just from our first chat on the phone. On our walks by the river he'd talk to me about music and art and random stuff, always listened without judging, just easy to talk to. He was always nice to be around and really calming. I moved to the eastern suburbs so we couldn't keep walking together but I'm honestly really thankful for the time I had with him."
" max was such a huge help when we really needed it i've got 3 kids 5 7 and 17 all on the spectrum and two with adhd so mornings are a full-on circus most days lol he came in for just a couple hours at first and honestly just got it straight away he played little games with the younger two using their toys and somehow even got them to eat breakfast my oldest liked hanging out with him too they played video games and actually connected which is rare max came back a few weeks while my regular carer was away and he honestly made everything so much easier i'm super grateful"

Weekday Daytime Rate (Standard Support): $70.23 per hour
This is the standard weekday rate under the NDIS 2025 Price Guide for Assistance with Social and Community Participation. However, rates may vary depending on the type of support provided; if the service involves more complex individual needs or group-based activities, pricing will be adjusted to reflect the level of support required.
Thank you for your interest in working with me. I truly appreciate you taking the time to learn more about who I am and how I might be able to help. It means a lot, and it helps us make the most of our first chat.
I believe good support starts with genuine connection, so I offer a complimentary Meet & Greet session. If I'm nearby and available, we can catch up in person. If not, we can easily meet over FaceTime or Zoom, whichever works best for you.
This is just a relaxed, no-pressure opportunity to get to know each other, talk through your needs, and see if we feel like a good fit.
As of April 2025, my availability is current, and I'm happy to chat to see if we can find a time that works for both of us. I'm based in Melbourne's inner west and open to travelling for the right opportunity.
I focus on building strong, long-term relationships that lead to consistent, meaningful support rather than one-off shifts.
If you feel I could be the right fit, I'd love to hear from you. Please email me at bealmaximilien@gmail.com with as much detail as you're comfortable sharing about you, your family, your story, your needs, and how I can help.
I look forward to connecting soon.
